Why We Built This Site
Colorado gives the public several ways to reach court and public records, but Kiowa County does not publish a separate local database for every record type. Court dockets start with the Colorado Judicial Branch. Copies and certified documents route through the Clerk of Court at Kiowa County Combined Court. Jail, incident, and warrant questions route through the sheriff. Marriage licensing and county recorded instruments route through the Kiowa County Clerk and Recorder.
That structure can be confusing because the county is part of the 15th Judicial District with Baca, Cheyenne, and Prowers counties. A person may see regional court, prosecutor, probation, or public defender references while trying to resolve a Kiowa County case. The content here is organized around that official structure.
